We had a MUCH larger rice cooker, but with limited kitchen space, it seemed silly to have a 3 quart rice maker when I only ever made one or two cups at a time. To be clear, since there is so much confusion, this makes about 1 cup of uncooked rice - you use their measuring cup (which, for some reason, is never actually 1cup) and put a maximum of one cup of rice into the cooker, fill it up to the matching line measurement in the bowl, and push the switch to 'cook'. It makes about two cups of COOKED rice. If you don't finish all the rice, you can just pluck the entire bowl out of the rice maker and put it in the fridge, it's small, and keeps the left-overs without drying out for a couple days.This was exactly what I was looking for - a single/double serving size, and just a smaller appliance that makes good rice.

Just be prepared that this is a very small rice cooker. I didn't know that because I believe I didn't read description correctly. But I still like it. It makes enough rice for 4 people each meal so I'm all set

If you like rice this is the way to go simple to use and it is perfect every time no mess like in the microwave. If you are doing Jasmine rice use an extra couple tablespoons of water you wont be disappointed!
