Strong motor: The Elna 340 has a strong motor compare to other entry level sewing machines. It is one of the most important factors to consider when buying a machine. Some people think you can put a denim needle on your machine and then it will be able to sew denim but the truth is if the motor doesn’t have the power to push that needle through that fabric then it doesn’t matter what needle you put on there. The Elna 340 is a workhorse and it can’t WAIT to hem all your jeans!
Needle Threader: The needle threader on the Elna 340 is a work of genius. Easy to use you’ll be thankful you bought this machine for this feature alone!
Top Loader: It’s a top loader which means its easier to thread and doesn’t jam easily. Less time threading means more time sewing right?
Built in Measuring: On the removeable free arm is a very handy printed measuring gauge. This comes in so hand when you’ve lost your tape measure again…hint – it’s probably round your neck!
Hard case and carry handle: Sewing on your own can be no fun so you want to be able to take it on sewing holidays and trips or to sewing bees right? At the very least you want to be able to store it safely and the Elna 340 comes with a hard case, protecting it from dust and anything else in the cupboard!
Variable speed: Another reason why the Elna 340 is great for beginners is the variable speed. There is a switch on the foot pedal that lets your slow it down or speed it up. Very handy at the start for when you are learning and also for later on when you are being impatient!
Great stitch selection: The Elna 340 has 24 stitches which is great for an entry level machine! Half of these are for non stretch fabric and half are for stretch fabric so you can use your Elna 340 for both!
