Glass Platen Safety Shelf
We Can Also Make You Any Length Of Safety Shelf.
The safety shelf is one piece of steel ¾” x 2” x 5/32” thick.  This is the perfect size of safety shelf for 2” x 72” sander/grinder.  A safety shelf needs to be just slightly thinner than the ceramic glass itself.  Our ceramic glass is 3/16”.  This allows the sanding belt to run smoothly without interference.  The safety shelf is drilled and tapped and comes with cap screws ready to install.
Installation is easy.
Temporarily fasten the safety shelf to the base of your steel platen with a clamp or vice grips.
Carefully mark where you want to drill your holes with a “Sharpie permanent marker” or center punch.
Remove the safety shelf and drill ¼” holes in your metal platen where you marked.
Fasten the cap screws from the back of your steel platen.
Grind flat the screws that protrude so the face is flat.
Measure from your safety shelf to the top of the metal platen and order the length of ceramic glass your need.
