Caution: Do not leave outside in freezing conditions and in breezy conditions.
Instructions
Prepare nectar - 1 part sugar to 4 parts water.  Bring the water near boiling and add sugar.
Add nectar to containers, 3/4 full (about 1.5 tbsp).  There is no need to add food coloring (container top provides the color).
Set the small handheld hummingbird feeders outside near a larger feeder where you can view the feeders.
When hummingbirds get use to the small feeders, get in a comfortable chair outside near original placement of containers.  Place container in palm of hand (resting on your thigh or armchair) and patiently wait for the hummingbird action.  Stay VERY STILL.  It may take several attempts to get the hummingbirds comfortable with the very close viewing stand.
If the hummers seem hesitate, move the handheld feeder closer to a larger feeder and slowly put your hand closer & closer to the larger feeding port until it is only inches away. Remember to stay very still.  This should get the hummingbirds interested in your large handheld feeder.
