Maintenance
This machine is generally maintenance free.  Using common sense, such as avoiding accidentally cutting hard things (a binder clip, for example), storing it in a dry place, should allow the cutter to work trouble-free for a long period of time.  We have been using one of these in our shop to cut regular paper (20 LB copy paper) on a regular basis for more than 4 years.  After cutting through more than 1,200 reams

yes, that's 600,000 pages!!
), the original blade is still delivering easy and clean cuts today!  We expect our cutter to continue working for many more years.
The instruction manual includes a list of national shops that sharpen blades.  When the blade does need to be sharpened (most likely due to accidental cutting of metal objects), it can be sent to any of those on the list to get sharpened.
