    Description

    Beautiful vintage hand carved boxwood netsuke optical illusion of a face that is both human and bird like.  It is possibly of the figure Lezhenzi.  It's about 1-3/4" long.  The piece is signed 宏中 (Hironaka).
    This netsuke is from an estate of a theater associate professor and costume designer that traveled extensively around the world.
